Europe's first Lunar mission is set to begin early August 2003 with the launch of SMART-1 aboard an Ariane-5 rocket. The SMART-1 (Small Missions for Advanced Research and Thechnology) was presented to the press on April 03, 2003 at ESA/ESTEC in Noordwijk the Netherlands.
